OLD MAGAZINES
The Herald of the Star
(The Herald of the Star)
This
magazine was published by the Order of the Star of the East, which was
the organization that revered Krishnamurti and promoted the imminent
arrival of Lord Christ-Maitreya, the World Teacher.
It
contains articles, poems, and transcripts of lectures given by
Krishnamurti, particularly at the annual Ommen Camp in the Netherlands
and the Ojai Camp in California. It also includes articles by prominent
members of the Adyar Theosophical Society from this period: Besant,
Jinarajadasa, and others.
It was published monthly from January 1912 to December 1927.
It
was published in London, England, by PP Press, and its editor was
Krishnamurti from 1912 to July 1917; and then it was Emily Luytens and
Desikacharya Rajagopal.
International Star Bulletin
(International Star Bulletin)
From
1927 the magazine's name was changed and it was published quarterly
until 1930 in Ommen, the Netherlands, by the Star Publishing Trust, with
the editors remaining Emily Lutyens and Desikacharya Rajagopal.
It ceased publication shortly after Krishnamurti dissolved the Order of the Star.
Star Bulletin
(Star Bulletin)
From
1931 to 1933, a magazine containing Krishnamurti's new reflections
continued to be published, first monthly and then quarterly. The
publisher remained Star Publishing Trust, initially based in Ommen,
Holland, before relocating to Hollywood, California.
(Note:
the magazines above were not really Krishnamurti's own but rather
those of the organization that promoted him as the new messiah, while
the magazines below do correspond more closely with his later way of
thinking, but he did not personally direct them; they were created by
his foundations.)
