Curuppumullage
Jinarajadasa was the protégé of Charles Leadbeater, and later he held
several important positions in the Theosophical Society of Adyar, among
the most important were: from 1921 to 1928 he was the vice-president of
this organization, and from 1946 until his death in 1953 he was the
international president.
During,
and even after the deaths of Besant (in 1933) and Leadbeater (in 1934),
Jinarajadasa continued to promote the lies that this couple had been
proclaiming.
First by publishing extensively the books that Leadbeater and Besant had written.
Leadbeater and Besant's Neo-Theosophy
Second,
by publishing numerous books, pamphlets, and articles in which
Jinarajadasa continued to spread the pseudo-theosophy developed by
Leadbeater and supported by Besant, which is full of errors and lies.
Among his principal texts on "Theosophy" are:
- "Christ the Logos " (1910)
- "Occult guidance in Theosophical Work " (1915)
- "Practical Theosophy " (1918)
- "Life, Death and What Then? " (1918)
- "Theosophy and Reconstruction" (1919)
- "First Principles of Theosophy" (1921)
- "The Mediator and Other Theosophical Essays" (1926)
- "What Theosophists Believe" (1938)
- "Is and Is-To-Be" (1940)
- "The Solar System as a Flower" (1946)
- "The Ideas of Theosophy" (1950)
- "The Seven Veils Over Consciousness" (1952)
- "Principles of Theosophy" (1960)
Krishnamurti and the World Teacher
Third,
Jinarajadasa also continued to promote the lie that Leadbeater had
invented, that Lord Christ Maitreya, the World Teacher, would soon come
through Jiddu Krishnamurti. Among his principal texts on this subject
are:
- "The Message from the Future" (1916)
- "The Lord's Work" (1917)
- "The Faith that Is the Life" (1920)
- "Krishnamurti's Message" (1928)
- "When He comes" (?)
The clairvoyance of Leadbeater and Besant
And
fourth, by publishing more books in which Jinarajadasa praised the
alleged clairvoyant investigations carried out by Leadbeater and Besant.
In 1938 Jinarajadasa published the book "Occult Investigations: a Description of the Work of Annie Besant and Charles Leadbeater".
But on the blog I have shown you that the clairvoyant investigations of Leadbeater and Besant were charlatanism.
Past lives discovered by Leadbeater and Besant
In
1941, Jinarajadasa compiled the past lives that Leadbeater claimed to
have discovered of John Varley (whom Leadbeater named 'Erato'), and also
the past lives that Leadbeater claimed to have discovered of Francesca
Arundale (whom Leadbeater named 'Spica'). This same year, Jinarajadasa
published the book "The Soul's Growth through Reincarnation: Lives of Erato and Spica ."
In
1946, Jinarajadasa compiled the past lives that Leadbeater claimed to
have discovered of Hubert van Hook (whom Leadbeater named 'Orion'). That
same year, Jinarajadasa published the book " The Soul's Growth through Reincarnation: Lives of Orion ."
In 1947, Jinarajadasa edited a book that provided further information on these investigations, entitled: "Clairvoyant
Investigations of C.W. Leadbeater and [the book] The Lives of Alcyone
(J. Krishnamurti). Some Facts Described by Ernest Wood; with Notes by C.
Jinarajadasa." Ernest Wood was a student of Leadbeater who assisted him in compiling the past lives that Leadbeater described.
In
1948, Jinarajadasa compiled the past lives that Leadbeater claimed to
have discovered of Dr. Elizabeth Chidester or Robert Dennis (whom
Leadbeater named 'Ursa'), as well as the past lives that Leadbeater
claimed to have discovered of Basil Hodgson Smith (whom Leadbeater named
'Vega'), and also the past lives of someone Leadbeater named 'Eudox'
(apparently Miss Louisa Shaw). That same year, Jinarajadasa published
the book "The Soul's Growth through Reincarnation: Lives of Ursa, Vega, and Eudox ."
In
1950, Jinarajadasa compiled a list of the past lives that Leadbeater
claimed to have discovered of Colonel Olcott (whom Leadbeater named
'Ulysses'), and also of the past lives that Leadbeater claimed to have
discovered of Miss A.T. Willson (whom Leadbeater named 'Arcor'), and
also of the past lives of two people whom Leadbeater named 'Abel' and
'Vale' respectively, but whose identities I have not yet discovered.
That same year, Jinarajadasa published the book "The Soul's Growth through Reincarnation: Lives of Ulysses, Abel, Arcor, and Vale ."
But the past lives "clairvoyantly" discovered by Leadbeater and Besant have turned out to be completely false.
Leadbeater and Besant's atomic research
In 1951 Jinarajadasa edited and published the third edition of the book "Occult Chemistry" in which Leadbeater and Besant had claimed to clairvoyantly observe the atoms.
But the worst part is that since 1905 scientists had already proven that all the content of this book was false.
OBSERVATION
This is a very negative point for Curuppumullage
Jinarajadasa because when Besant and Leadbeater died, the charlatanism
of these two individuals was already very obvious, but Jinarajadasa,
instead of at least diminishing the promotion of that charlatanism, on
the contrary, he continued to promote it until his death; and this shows
you that this individual was not interested in the truth but in
perpetuating the falsehoods of Leadbeater and Besant.
