There is very little information about this theosophist.
Ferdinand T. Brooks was an Irishman who became interested in Theosophy, so he went to India in 1900 and became a close associate of Annie Besant, who became president of the Theosophical Society in 1907.
Brooks was a tutor to Jawaharlal Nehru, who later became Prime Minister of India.
Brooks became aware of the delusions into which Annie Besant was falling, and for this reason, he published three books detailing several of the negative things he witnessed.
1. The Theosophical Society and its Esoteric Boyeydom
Originally published by Thompson & Co., Madrás, 1914. Reprinted by Edmonton Theosophical Society, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 1991.
2. Neo-Theosophy Exposed
That means the pseudo-theosophy of Leadbeater and Besant being exposed. This book was originally published by Thompson & Co., Madras, 1914. Reprinted by Edmonton Theosophical Society, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, 1991.
3. My Resignation
The entire títle is ulo completo es "My Resignation or the sequel of my heresies," originally was published by Vyasashrama Book Shop, Madras, 1914 or 1915.
Unfortunately, this book has not been digitized.
Above, I've included a photo of the cover, which is Mr. Brooks's public statement regarding his resignation from the Theosophical Society of Adyar, due to the organization's mismanagement by Annie Besant.
The cover reads:
« The Religion which rises above sectarianism is Theosophy, no matter when o where.
The Polities which rises above party-interests is Theosophy, no matter when o where.
The Good of Man and World, no matter when o where — the Truthfulness by which Truth becomes known, the Services by which Happiness grows — that is Theosophy.
Whereas —
The 'Theosophy' which subordinates the Good of Man, no matter when o where, to the exaltation of a person of the pushing of a Policy, is not never was and never be Theosophy.
In justice to a great and noble Word. In this he known. »
