In his book
"The Rosicrucian Cosmos-Conception,"
Max Heindel on the physical plane wrote the following:
« In the Physical World, the solids, liquids
and gases form the three denser subdivisions, the remaining four being ethers
of varying densities.
The three
dense subdivisions of the Physical World (the solids, liquids and gases) constitute
what is termed the Chemical Region. The substance in this Region is the basis
of all dense Form.
The Ether is
also physical matter. It is not homogeneous, as material science alleges, but
exists in four different states. It is the medium of ingress for the quickening
spirit which imparts vitality to the Forms in the Chemical Region.
The four
finer or etheric subdivisions of the Physical World constitute what is known as
the Etheric Region.
The careful
consideration given by the occultist to the characteristics of the Physical
World might seem superfluous were it not that he regards all things from a viewpoint
differing widely from that of the materialist. The latter recognizes three
states of matter: solids, liquids, and gases.
These are
all chemical, because derived from the chemical constituents of Earth.
From this
chemical matter all the forms of mineral, plant, animal, and man have been
built, hence they are as truly chemical as the substances which are commonly so
termed. »
(Chapter
1)
And to
summarize, Max Heindel put the following diagram:
Unfortunately,
Max Heindel's claims are false, because the scientists not consider three
states of matter, but four, which are: solid, liquid, gaseous, and
incandescent.
And the
occultists also consider these four states, for example: in shamanism and
astrology; they speak of the four elements, which are: earth, water, air and
fire.
(And
since Max Heindel had studied astrology a lot, I don’t understand how he didn’t
realize that he was missing the fire element in his classification.)
Blavatsky
also specified that of the seven main states of matter on Earth, only one state
is ethereal, while the other two states that are still to be discovered have
other characteristics.
And she also
showed us, how the masters of wisdom designate these seven states of matter,
but as only five of them are now known in the West, she also put their
correspondences with the elements of nature and the names they have in the
ancient Hindu teaching:

(This
table is in Instructions III given by Blavatsky to the Esoteric School and
subsequently published in Collected Writings XII, p.614)
And about
these seven states of the physical plane matter, Blavatsky pointed out that:
« Occult Science recognizes seven states of matter — four entirely physical [solid, liquid, gaseous and
incandescent], the fifth (ethereal) semi-material, as
it will become visible in the air towards the end of our Fourth Round, to reign
supreme over the others during the whole of the Fifth Round.
The remaining two are as yet absolutely beyond the
range of human perception. These latter will, however, appear as presentments
during the 6th and 7th Races of this Round, and will become known in the 6th
and 7th Rounds respectively. »
(The
Secret Doctrine I, p.12)
And it
should be noted that this fifth state (ethereal) is not the one
mentioned by Max Heindel, since he associates it with the vital energy, while
in the original Theosophy, this state is associated with the physical matter,
and Blavatsky mentions the following about the ethereal state:
« Its characteristic is permeability
and as that state manifests itself:
- Humans will develop a sixth sense that will allow them to see through matter,
- and also the objects will be able to pass through other objects (walls, chests, etc.). »
(DS I, p.258)
Whereas the
vital energy and the vital body are associated with another plane of existence,
that is the energy plane (prana), which, in the original teaching is NOT part
of the physical plane, but it is a higher plane to the physical plane.
Therefore,
you may see that Max Heindel taught false and very different things from what
the Masters and their true disciples taught.
And the
question that arises is:
Why did Max Heindel say
those falsehoods?
And the answer is because he relied on what Charles Leadbeater
and Annie Besant wrote, but without realizing that what these individuals were
teaching was wrong.
