THE ENCOUNTERS THAT THE ROERICHS HAD WITH THE MASTERS KUTHUMI AND MORYA

About this matter the United Lodge of Theosophists commented as follows:

« There are only two instances mentioned in her biography in which she apparently met the Masters in person.

First, by her own admission, she saw them in London in 1920 in a crowd of Indian delegates and “she was unpleasantly surprised by the way they looked at her and did not recognize them.”

The next time was in India, or rather Sikkim, when they met and received the famous “Message from Mahatmas” to Communists, along with some soil from the Eastern “Holy Land” to sprinkle on the grave of Lenin, or “Mahatma Lenin” as he is called in the Agni Yoga books, which state that he today resides at Shambhala.

The original of the document cannot be found in order to see the handwriting; only the text, praising the achievements of Communists.

After the Roerichs moved to live in India, in the valley of Kulu, they never again claimed to have met the Master Morya in his physical or astral body, nor did anyone amongst their colleagues or associates make such an assertion. These are the known facts»

OBSERVATIONS

In the first case, I still can't find the document where Helena Roerich affirms that she met the Theosophical Masters in person in 1920 in London, but surely she did affirm this asseveration since this supposed encounter is well known by the Roerichs students. For example, Sina Fosdick, who was one of their most devoted followers, wrote:

-         "In London there was the unexpected physical encounter of Helena Roerich with two Mahatmas." (id.)

But the most certain thing is that this supposed encounter was a lie invented by Helena Roerich because the Theosophical Masters explained that in the first three quarters of each century they must remain hidden from the people.

As Master Kuthumi pointed out:

"If, for generations we have ‘shut out the world from the Knowledge of our Knowledge,’ it is on account of its absolute unfitness; and if, notwithstanding proofs given, it still refuses yielding to evidence, then will we at the End of this cycle retire into solitude and our kingdom of silence once more." (ML 9, p.50)

So it does not make any sense that the Theosophical Masters were in London in 1920 in a crowd of Indian delegates, as Helena Roerich affirmed, when Master Kuthumi himself specified that after the year 1900 and until the year 1975, he and the members of his Brotherhood would once again withdraw from any contact with people.

(I detail this cycle that Trans-Himalayan Masters must respect in this other article, link.)

In the second case, what I have discovered is that there was no physical meeting, but through spiritist sessions, the master of the Roerichs dictated two letters for the Russian communists and Helena Roerich wrote them in her personal notebooks.

These letters appear in the séances that the Roerichs held on November 30, 1925 and April 5, 1926. But it must be specified that it was not Master Morya who dictated these letters, but an astral entity trickster.

~*~

In conclusion, the Roerichs never had real encounters with the Theosophical Masters.
