- Or Alice Bailey had a serious condition in her cognitive ability.
- Or she did not pay attention to the texts that she copied from The Secret Doctrine and The Mahatma Letters, and only added them to her books to give herself more prestige.
-
Or it was another person (perhaps her husband or someone else) who did
that job of looking for references on a topic, but without having
previously read what Alice Bailey had written.
And
I say this asseveration because there are many occasions where I discover that Alice
Bailey states one thing, but she puts a footnote attached where
Blavatsky or Master Kuthumi say the opposite.
And to demonstrate you, below I put several examples of this asseveration:
MASTER
KUTHUMI
At
the beginning of her autobiography, Alice Bailey wrote:
« In
1915 I discovered who [was the Master that visited me in 1895] and that other
people knew Him. From then on the relationship has become closer and closer
until today I can, at will, contact Him.
.
. .
I
found that this visitor was the Master K. H., the Master Koot Hoomi, a Master
Who is very close to the Christ, Who is on the teaching line and Who is an
outstanding exponent of the love-wisdom of which the Christ is the full
expression.
.
. .
Master
K. H. is my Master, beloved and real. I have worked for Him ever since I was
fifteen years old and I am now one of the senior disciples in His group, or (as
it is called esoterically) in His Ashram. »
(Chapter 1)
But
later in her autobiography, Alice Bailey wrote:
« It
was during the year 1918 that I discovered for the first time who it was that
had come to see me in Scotland when I was a girl of fifteen. I had been
admitted into the Esoteric Section of the Theosophical Society and was
attending their meetings. The first time that I went into the Shrine Room I saw
the customary pictures of the Christ and the Masters of the Wisdom, as the
Theosophists call Them.
To
my surprise there, looking straight at me, was a picture of my visitor. There
was no mistake. This was the man who had walked into my aunt's drawing room,
and it was not the Master Jesus.
I
was inexperienced then and rushed to one of the senior people at Krotona and
asked for the name of this Master. They told me that it was the Master K. H. »
(Chapter 4)
So, Alice Bailey
already knows that he was Master Kuthumi since 1915, or did she discover in
1918?
The answer is none.
And also her affirmation that she was a disciple of Master Kuthumi is false, because
Alice Bailey told so many lies about Kuthumi that it discredits her having met
him.
THE SACRED PLANETS
In note 87 of her book “Treatise on Cosmic Fire” Alice Bailey wrote:
« The seven sacred planets are:
1. Mercury.
2. Mars.
3. Venus.
4. Jupiter.
5. Saturn.
6. The Sun (which replaces another planet).
7. And the Moon (which replaces another planet).
Neptune and Uranus are not listed here nor is Vulcan. »
(This note is found in the first part, section E-5-4)
And this affirmation was surely taken by Alice Bailey from The
Secret Doctrine where it is written that:
« The
sacred planets are: Mercury, Mars, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, the Sun and
the Moon. But the ancient astrologers knew very well that neither the
Sun nor the Moon are planets and they only used them as substitutes for two sacred planets that science still does not know. »
(SD I, p.575)
But later when Alice Bailey published her book “Esoteric Psychology”, she wrote:
« The
seven sacred planets are: Vulcan, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn,
Neptune and Uranus. And the non-sacred planets are: the Earth, the Moon,
the Sun, Mars and Pluto. »
(This is found in volume I, part two, chapter III, section 2)
And here it makes you want to ask Alice Bailey:
Don't you remember that you had already listed the sacred planets in your previous book?
Because here you are telling falsehoods!
THE DEVACHAN
Devachan
is a state of immense bliss that humans experience when they ascend to
“Heaven” after dying, and Alice Bailey in her book “Treatise on Cosmic Fire” detailed about this state of intense bliss beginning by stating the following:
« Devachan
is a state of consciousness that reflects the life of the personality,
it is that elevated state that we call nirvanic consciousness [that is,
in this state the consciousness is freed from illusion]. »
(This is found in part two, section D-3-3-cb)
And
to support her statement, Alice Bailey put as an attached note an
excerpt from the letter that Master Kuthumi wrote to Mr. Sinnett where
he explains what Devachan is.
But
if Alice Bialey had cared to read this note, then she would have
realized that there Master Kuthumi is saying the complete opposite of
what she had just stated, because there Master Kuthumi wrote:
« No
pain, no affliction, not even a shadow of sorrow darkens the luminous
horizon of his absolute happiness to the person who is in Devachan,
because Devachan is a state of perpetual illusion. And since the
conscious perception of one's own personality on Earth is just a fading
dream, this sensation that humans experience in Devachan will also be
a dream, only a hundred times more intense. »
(ML 16, p.101)
In
other words, Devachan is not a state where humans are freed from
illusion as Alice Bailey claims, but on the contrary Devachan is a state of
profound illusion!
HOW IS DEVACHAN EXPERIENCED?
About this Alice Bailey wrote:
« Each
entity separated through self-realization participates in group
realization, its happiness residing there, no longer feeling separation
but only essential union and unity. »
But
it turns out that just the opposite is true because in the same note
that Alice Bailey attached, Master Kuthumi explained that:
« Devachan
is a state of intense egoism during which an ego reaps the reward of
its altruism on Earth and is completely enraptured within the bliss of
all its personal affections, preferences and thoughts that it had during
its earthly life, thus collecting the fruit of their meritorious
actions. »
(ML 16, p.101)
In
other words, the devachanic state is a tremendously personal and
selfish experience and not an experience of group union as Alice Bailey
claims.
And
the last straw is that Alice Bailey did not even realize that in the
note she added (supposedly to support what she had written) Master
Kuthumi is saying the opposite and thereby proving the falsehood of what
she stated!
WHO IS GOING TO DEVACHAN?
Regarding this, Alice Bailey stated that:
« There
is no Devachan for the savage or the unevolved man, since this state
does not correspond to them nor do they yet have the mentality to
understand it. »
But once again Master Kuthumi says the opposite since in his letter he wrote:
« The
happiness obtained by the savage while hunting in his devachanic dream
is no less intense than the ecstasy felt by a great scholar who spends
eons enveloped in the delight of listening to divine symphonies played
by angelic choirs and imaginary orchestras.
Since
it is not the savage's fault that he was born with an instinct to kill
(although this has caused the death of many innocent animals), but if
despite this that savage man was also a loving father and husband, then
why couldn't he will he also enjoy his share of reward for his good
deeds? »
(ML 16, p.103)
And
this part of Master Kuthumi's letter, Alice Bailey did not add in her
attached note, but this text was right next to what she did copy !!!
Which
shows that Alice Bailey didn't even read the letter, she just saw the
word “Devachan” and then she thought it would be a good idea to put an
excerpt from this letter in her book to impress her readers.
THE REENCARNATION
On this matter, in her book “Treatise on Cosmic Fire”, Alice Bailey wrote the following:
«
Those who are on the path (whether of probation or initiation) as a
rule do not go to Devachan [“Heaven”], but incarnate immediately. »
(p.592)
But in a later book titled “Treatise on White Magic,” Alice Bailey said otherwise:
«
The one who is little evolved passes cyclically and with astonishing
rapidity in and out of incarnation. But as he progresses, the periods
outside of incarnation constantly lengthen, to the point where they are
much longer. »
(p.371)
And in another later book called “Esoteric Psychology” volume I, Alice Bailey repeated the same thing:
«
Souls that have not yet evolved incarnate quickly, while the more
evolved souls require longer periods to reap the fruits of the
experience. »
(p.220)
But in a later book titled “Esoteric Healing,” Alice Bailey returned to saying what she had initially stated (and
which is certainly false) and even mocked those who claimed the
opposite (herself being one of them):
«
An example of this inaccurate and foolish attempt to shed light on the
theory of rebirth can be seen in the time it takes for disembodied human
souls to return to physical rebirth.
They
say that the years of absence depend on the age of the departed soul
and the place it occupies on the scale of evolution. They say that if
the soul is very advanced, its absence from the physical plane is
prolonged.
But
I tell you that the opposite happens. And that advanced souls and those
who are rapidly developing their intellectual capacity return very
quickly due to their sensitive response to the attraction exerted by
obligations, interests and responsibilities, already established on the
physical plane. »
(p.298)
And
here one wonders if Alice Bailey was really the one who wrote her books,
because as you yourselves can see, depending on the book, she
affirms one thing or the opposite.
THE FOURTH STATE OF MATTER
In note 79 of her book “Treatise on Cosmic Fire” Alice Bailey wrote:
« The elements are the progenitors of the senses:
·
Hearing comes from the ether
·
Touch comes from the air
·
Sight comes from fire
·
The taste comes from the water
·
Smell comes from the earth
»
(This note is found in the first part, section E-5-4)
And
this Alice Bailey copied from a table found in the Secret Doctrine II,
p.107, but then when Bailey began to explain the different divisions of
the physical plane, she put the following diagram:
And there one wonders:
And
where is the fire element because in this diagram only the solid,
liquid and gaseous states appear but the incandescent state does NOT
appear?
And to try to remedy her omission, Alice Bailey put the following correspondences in the text on the side:
·
The first ethereal state is associated with primordial matter
·
The second ethereal state is associated with akasha
·
The third ethereal state is associated with the ether
·
The fourth ethereal state is associated with air
·
The gaseous state is associated with fire
·
The liquid state is associated with water
·
The dense state is associated with the earth
(The diagram and these correspondences are found in the first part, section C-4-2)
But what Alice Bailey wrote is full of falsehoods!
And
if Alice Bailey had cared to study theosophy a little more deeply, she
would have found the diagram that Blavatsky published in Instructions
III for her students of the Esoteric School where she summarizes the
seven states of matter:
STATE
OF THE MATTERY
|
ELEMENTS WITH WHICH IT IS ASSOCIATED
|
IN SANSKITO (TATTVAS)
|
An unknown
in the west
|
primordial matter
or supreme (aether)
|
goodbye
|
An unknown
in the west
|
self-existing “parentless” matter
|
anupadaka or
aupapaduka
|
ethereal
|
ether
|
akasha or alaya
|
incandescent
|
fire
|
taijasa or tiles
|
gaseous
|
air
|
wow
|
liquid
|
water
|
apas
|
solid
|
land
|
prithivi
|
And there Alice Bailey would have realized that what she wrote is tremendously wrong because:
- She did not put the incandescent state which is associated with the element of fire.
- On the other hand, he associated the fire element with the gaseous state, which is false, since in the oldest traditions, the gaseous state has been associated with air and not with fire.
- And there is only one ethereal state, while the other “ethers” were a lie invented by Leadbeater.
- And Leadbeater also made a jumble of Sanskrit words, a jumble that Alice Bailey copied completely.
THE BODHISATVA
Alice Bailey put this definition of the Bodhisattva:
« Bodhisattva:
literally means one whose consciousness has been transformed into
intelligence or budhi. And they are the humans who only need one more
incarnation to become perfect Buddhas.
But
Bodhisattva, as used here in my books, is the title of the office
currently held by Lord Maitreya, known in the West as Christ, and this
office can also be translated as World Teacher. The Bodhisattva is the
Guide of all the religions of the world and the Instructor of the angels
and masters. »
(This is found in the glossary of his first two books: "Letters on occult meditation" and "Human and solar initiation " )
The first part of her text was copied by Alice Bailey from Blavatsky who wrote the following about the Bodhisattva:
« Literally
in Sanskrit it means “he whose essence (sattva) achieves spiritual
wisdom (bodhi)”; and they are those humans who only need one more
incarnation to become perfect Buddhas, and therefore have the right to
Nirvana. »
(Theosophical Glossary)
And the second part of her text was copied by Alice Bailey to Leadbeater who wrote the following about the bodhisattva:
« Lord
Maitreya the Christ is the present Bodhisattva, the Teacher of the
World and he has repeatedly been called the Teacher of angels and masters. »
(The masters and the path)
But if Alice Bailey had paid more attention to what she copied, then she would have realized that
Leadbeater's definition is totally incongruous, because a human, no
matter how evolved he may be, cannot be the instructor of the angels due
to that the angelic kingdom is a kingdom superior to the human kingdom.
To
give you an analogy it would be as if Leadbeater said that an animal is
going to take over the evolution of humans, which is completely absurd,
and the same thing happens here.
And if Alice Bailey had cared to read what Blavatsky wrote about Maitreya then she would know that:
« In
the occult teaching Maitreya is the name used to designate the last
Messiah who will come at the culmination of this Great Cycle [which is
the fourth round]. He will appear as Maitreya Buddha in the seventh
Root-Race where he will restore justice on Earth and will be the last of
the Avataras and Buddhas. »
(SD I, p.384 and 470)
In
other words, there are still many centuries before Maitreya comes, and
therefore Alice Bailey would have realized that Leadbeater was lying, and
she would then not have made the mistake of repeating the same
falsehoods that this lying man invented.
THE MAYA SANSKRIT WORD
Maya in Sanskrit means illusion, and this Alice Bailey specified in her first two books “Human and Solar Initiation” and “Letters on Occult Meditation” (1922), since at the end of those books she wrote:
« Maya
in Sanskrit means illusion, of the form or limitation aspect. Result of
manifestation, and is generally applied in a relative sense to the
phenomenal or objective appearances created by the mind. »
(Glossary)
But later in her fourth book, “Treatise on Cosmic Fire” (1925) she put an extract from a letter from the master Kuthumi where the master noted:
« The Devachan is a state of profound maya. »
And right in the text above she wrote:
« Devachan is this elevated state that we call nirvanic consciousness. »
(2-D-II-cb)
And that makes me want to say to Alice Bailey:
Don't you remember that in your first books you yourself specified that maya means illusion?
So
how can Devachan be a nirvanic consciousness, if nirvana is precisely
when you are free from illusion, and Master Kuthumi specified that
Devachan is a state of profound illusion!
THE PRATYEKA BUDDHAS
In note 30 of her book “Treatise on Cosmic Fire,” Alice Bailey wrote:
« The
Pratyeka Buddhas or “Buddhas of Activity”. This degree corresponds
exclusively to the Yogacharya school and consists of a highly
intellectual development without true spirituality... One of the three
paths that lead to Nirvana and the lower path on which a yogi without an
instructor and without saving others, for the mere sake of force of his
will and technical observation, he acquires a nominal and individual
Buddhist state. »
(This note is found in the first part, section B-3)
And this Alice Bailey took from the definition that Blavatsky gave about the Pratyeka Buddhas in her Theosophical Glossary, and which is supported by Eastern teachings, but Alice Bailey did not
pay any attention to this definition because in her book “Treatise on Cosmic Fire” and in the rest of her work she spends her time talking about the Pratyeka Buddhas, assuring that they are:
« The
collaborators and counselors of the Lord of the World (Sanat Kumara)
and they are the full flowering of intelligence, having achieved in a
previous solar system what man is now trying to perfect. »
(Human and Solar Initiation, chapter 4)
And
this is a false definition that Leadbeater invented, who, since he did
not know what names to use for his fictitious hierarchy, he came up with
the idea of calling Pratyeka Buddhas the “assistants of the Lord of the World.”
And here one really wants to ask Leadbeater and Alice Bailey:
How are the Pratyeka Buddhas going to be “very
advanced beings from a previous solar system,” if Blavatsky specified
that they are current terrestrial humans who selfishly seek to achieve
nirvana?
THE ROUNDS
At the beginning of her book “ Treatise on Cosmic Fire,” Alice Bailey wrote in note 20:
« It should be noted that seven rounds constitute a chain period. »
(This note is found in the first part, section A-1-c)
And this Alice Bailey copied from Arthur Powell from his book “The Solar System,” but then halfway through his book “Treatise on Cosmic Fire”, Alice Bailey wrote:
« The Venusian scheme is, according to “The Secret Doctrine” (DS I, III, 44-47; IV, 158) in its fifth and final round. »
(This is found in part two, section B-1-3-c)
But what Alice Bailey asserts is false because nowhere in The Secret Doctrine
is it said that Venus is in her fifth round, instead what is said is
that Venus is already in her last round, and if Alice Bailey had placed
more attention to the references that she put in her book, she would
know that the last round is the seventh and not the fifth, because in The Secret Doctrine it is specified that:
« The evolution of life advances in seven rounds because the entire metaphysical structure of the universe is septenary. »
(SD I, p.158-159)
And
later Alice Bailey realized what a big mistake she had made, but since
she had already written many times that Venus was in the fifth round,
instead of making the effort to correct her manuscript, she preferred to
invent an excuse to get out quickly of that contradiction, and that is
why at the end of her book she wrote:
« The
initiatory educational process that aims to stimulate magnetic
irradiation or transmute it, constitutes only an experiment. It was
first tested on Venus, with success, resulting in the consummation of
the planetary purpose in five rounds instead of seven. »
(This is found in part two, section E-3-4)
But it turns out that what Alice Bailey claims is completely false for the reasons I explain in this other chapter (see link).
THE SKANDHAS AND THE PERMANENT ATOMS
And Alice Bailey also committed nonsense with other instructors, for example with Patanjali.
Since
her first book, in 1922, Alice Bailey has been making hundreds of assertions about permanent atoms, which are atoms that
Charles Leadbeater and Annie Besant claimed to have perceived through
their clairvoyance and which presumably record all the characteristics
that human beings develop and transmit them to their next reincarnation.
But in 1927 Alice Bailey published her sixth (or seventh) book entitled “The Light of the Soul” in which she sought to clarify the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, and when
transcribing the texts of the Hindu mystic, Alice Bailey put in the
“Book IV” section: enlightenment, that the energetic structures that
fulfill this function are the skandhas.
But
apparently, Alice Bailey didn't even realize that by writing that, she
was contradicting herself with everything she had previously stated. And
subsequently she no longer mentioned the skandhas, while in her
subsequent books she continued to speak profusely about permanent atoms,
which to her misfortune turn out not to exist, because they were a lie
invented by Leadbeater and Besant.
RELIGION AND POLITIC
In her book “The Externalization of the Hierarchy,”
Alice Bailey complains that the Vatican wants to continue meddling in political
affairs:
« It does not essentially matter whether that aggression
is the gesture of any particular nation or group of nations or whether it is
generated by the political groups of any powerful religious organization, such
as the Church of Rome, who are as yet unable to leave politics alone and attend
to the business for which all religions are responsible—leading human beings
closer to the God of Love. »
(p.549)
But instead in her book
“The Reappearance of Christ” Alice
Bailey declares that she wants to return to a theocratic government:
« The long divorce between religion and politics must end. »
(Section
2)
So she is for or against the theocratism?
CONCLUSION
This big lack of rigor that Alice Bailey shows in her books leaves me
with a very bad impression of her, because it tells me that Alice Bailey
did not revise what she wrote, nor did she investigate seriously, but
rather she only speculated and compiled different sources of
information, but without the slightest analysis or introspection. And
from this poorly done job, she made many books that she sold to her
followers pretending that in these books it was a very advanced esoteric teaching
transmitted by the Masters of Shambala.
