THE PRINCIPLE OF CORRESPONDENCE TAUGHT BY THE KYBALION

The chapter 8 of the book The Kybalion details the second hermetic principle, which is the principle of correspondence.

 

"As above, so below; as below, so above.” — The Kybalion.

 

The great Second Hermetic Principle embodies the truth that there is a harmony, agreement, and correspondence between the several planes of Manifestation, Life and Being. This truth is a truth because all that is included in the Universe emanates from the same source, and the same laws, principles, and characteristics apply to each unit, or combination of units, of activity, as each manifests its own phenomena upon its own plane.

 

For the purpose of convenience of thought and study, the Hermetic Philosophy considers that the Universe may be divided into three great classes of phenomena, known as the Three Great Planes, namely:

 

     1. The Great Physical Plane.

     2. The Great Mental Plane.

     3. The Great Spiritual Plane.

 

These divisions are more or less artificial and arbitrary, for the truth is that all of the three divisions are but ascending degrees of the great scale of Life, the lowest point of which is undifferentiated Matter, and the highest point that of Spirit. And, moreover, the different Planes shade into each other, so that no hard and fast division may be made between the higher phenomena of the Physical and the lower of the Mental; or between the higher of the Mental and the lower of the Physical.

 

(This is false since the masters explained that between each plane of existence there is a border that, although thin, clearly separates the substances that constitute those planes; and to illustrate it, look at the border that separates the sea from the sky: it is a fine line, but which clearly shows the difference between the aqueous state and the gaseous state. Well, the same thing happens between the different planes.)

 

In short, the Three Great Planes may be regarded as three great groups of degrees of Life Manifestation. While the purposes of this little book do not allow us to enter into an extended discussion of, or explanation of, the subject of these different planes, still we think it well to give a general description of the same at this point.

 

At the beginning we may as well consider the question so often asked by the neophyte, who desires to be informed regarding the meaning of the word "Plane", which term has been very freely used, and very poorly explained, in many recent works upon the subject of occultism. The question is generally about as follows: "Is a Plane a place having dimensions, or is it merely a condition or state?" We answer: "No, not a place, nor ordinary dimension of space; and yet more than a state or condition. It may be considered as a state or condition, and yet the state or condition is a degree of dimension, in a scale subject to measurement." Somewhat paradoxical, is it not? But let us examine the matter. A "dimension," you know, is "a measure in a straight line, relating to measure," etc. The ordinary dimensions of space are length, breadth, and height, or perhaps length, breadth, height, thickness or circumference. But there is another dimension of "created things" or "measure in a straight line," known to occultists, and to scientists as well, although the latter have not as yet applied the term "dimension" to it—and this new dimension, which, by the way, is the much speculated -about "Fourth Dimension," is the standard used in determining the degrees or "planes."

 

This Fourth Dimension may be called "The Dimension of Vibration" It is a fact well known to modern science, as well as to the Hermetists who have embodied the truth in their "Third Hermetic Principle," that "everything is in motion; everything vibrates; nothing is at rest." From the highest manifestation, to the lowest, everything and all things Vibrate. Not only do they vibrate at different rates of motion, but as in different directions and in a different manner. The degrees of the rate of vibrations constitute the degrees of measurement on the Scale of Vibrations—in other words the degrees of the Fourth Dimension. And these degrees form what occultists call "Planes" The higher the degree of rate of vibration, the higher the plane, and the higher the manifestation of Life occupying that plane. So that while a plane is not "a place," nor yet "a state or condition," yet it possesses qualities common to both. We shall have more to say regarding the subject of the scale of Vibrations in our next lessons, in which we shall consider the Hermetic Principle of Vibration.

 

You will kindly remember, however, that the Three Great Planes are not actual divisions of the phenomena of the Universe, but merely arbitrary terms used by the Hermetists in order to aid in the thought and study of the various degrees and Forms of universal activity and life. The atom of matter, the unit of force, the mind of man, and the being of the arch -angel are all but degrees in one scale, and all fundamentally the same, the difference between solely a matter of degree, and rate of vibration—all are creations of THE ALL, and have their existence solely within the Infinite Mind of THE ALL.

 

The Hermetists sub-divide each of the Three Great Planes into Seven Minor Planes, and each of these latter are also sub-divided into seven sub-planes, all divisions being more or less arbitrary, shading into each other, and adopted merely for convenience of scientific study and thought.

 

(As I indicated above, this is false because if there are reasons that lead to these divisions, it is that although the energy is the same on all planes, the differences in the vibrational frequency generate different conditions.

 

Observe the water, when it is solid it generates a polar environment, when it is aqueous it generates a marine environment, when it is gaseous it generates an airy environment; and in each of these environments there are different beings, different characteristics, different conditions. The same thing happens with plans.)

 

 

 

 

The Great Physical Plane

 

The Great Physical Plane, and its Seven Minor Planes, is that division of the phenomena of the Universe which includes all that relates to physics, or material things, forces, and manifestations. It includes all forms of that which we call Matter, and all forms of that which we call Energy or Force. But you must remember that the Hermetic Philosophy does not recognize Matter as a thing in itself, or as having a separate existence even in the Mind of THE ALL. The Teachings are that Matter is but a form of Energy—.that is, Energy at a low rate of vibrations of a certain kind. And accordingly the Hermetists classify Matter under the head of Energy, and give to it three of the Seven Minor Planes of the Great Physical Plane.

 

These Seven Minor Physical Planes are as follows:

 

     1. The Plane of Matter (A)

     2. The Plane of Matter (B)

     3. The Plane of Matter (C)

     4. The Plane of Ethereal Substance

     5. The Plane of Energy (A)

     6. The Plane of Energy (B)

     7. The Plane of Energy (C)

 

 

1. The Plane of Matter (A) comprises the forms of Matter in its form of solids, liquids, and gases, as generally recognized by the text-books on physics.

 

2. The Plane of Matter (B) comprises certain higher and more subtle forms of Matter of the existence of which modern science is but now recognizing, the phenomena of Radiant Matter, in its phases of radium, etc., belonging to the lower sub-division of this Minor Plane.

 

3. The Plane of Matter (C) comprises forms of the most subtle and tenuous Matter, the existence of which is not suspected by ordinary scientists.

 

4. The Plane of Ethereal Substance comprises that which science speaks of as "The Ether", a substance of extreme tenuity and elasticity, pervading all Universal Space, and acting as a medium for the transmission of waves of energy, such as light, heat, electricity, etc. This Ethereal Substance forms a connecting link between Matter (so-called) and Energy, and partakes of the nature of each. The Hermetic Teachings, however, instruct that this plane has seven sub-divisions (as have all of the Minor Planes), and that in fact there are seven ethers, instead of but one.

 

5. Next above the Plane of Ethereal Substance comes the Plane of Energy (A), which comprises the ordinary forms of Energy known to science, its seven sub-planes being, respectively, Heat; Light; Magnetism; Electricity, and Attraction (including Gravitation, Cohesion, Chemical Affinity, etc.) and several other forms of energy indicated by scientific experiments but not as yet named or classified.

 

6. The Plane of Energy (B) comprises seven subplanes of higher forms of energy not as yet discovered by science, but which have been called "Nature's Finer Forces" and which are called into operation in manifestations of certain forms of mental phenomena, and by which such phenomena becomes possible.

 

7. The Plane of Energy (C) comprises seven sub-planes of energy so highly organized that it bears many of the characteristics of "life," but which is not recognized by the minds of men on the ordinary plane of development, being available for the use on beings of the Spiritual Plane alone—such energy is unthinkable to ordinary man, and may be considered almost as "the divine power." The beings employing the same are as "gods" compared even to the highest human types known to us.

 

 

 

 

The Great Mental Plane

 

The Great Mental Plane comprises those forms of "living things" known to us in ordinary life, as well as certain other forms not so well known except to the occultist. The classification of the Seven Minor Mental Planes is more or less satisfactory and arbitrary (unless accompanied by elaborate explanations which are foreign to the purpose of this particular work), but we may as well mention them. They are as follows:

 

     1. The Plane of Mineral Mind

     2. The Plane of Elemental Mind (A)

     3. The Plane of Plant Mind

     4. The Plane of Elemental Mind (B)

     5. The Plane of Animal Mind

     6. The Plane of Elemental Mind (C)

     7. The Plane of Human Mind

 

 

1. The Plane of Mineral Mind comprises the "states or conditions" of the units or entities, or groups and combinations of the same, which animate the forms known to us as "minerals, chemicals, etc." These entities must not be confounded with the molecules, atoms and corpuscles themselves, the latter being merely the material bodies or forms of these entities, just as a man's body is but his material form and not "himself." These entities may be called "souls" in one sense, and are living beings of a low degree of development, life, and mind—just a little more than the units of "living energy" which comprise the higher sub-divisions of the highest Physical Plane. The average mind does not generally attribute the possession of mind, soul, or life, to the mineral kingdom, but all occultists recognize the existence of the same, and modern science is rapidly moving forward to the point-of-view of the Hermetic, in this respect.

 

(Here what the author of the Kybalion says is partly false because the mineral has those aspects, but in a latent state, and it is only with the following kingdoms that those aspects begin to develop progressively more and more.

 

To give you an analogy, it is as if he said that a seed has roots, leaves, etc. And this is not true, but instead it is true that a seed has the capacity to develop all of that. Well, the same thing happens with minerals.)

 

The molecules, atoms and corpuscles have their "loves and hates"; "likes and dislikes"; "attractions and repulsions". "affinities and non-affinities," etc., and some of the more daring of modern scientific minds have expressed the opinion that the desire and will, emotions and feelings, of the atoms differ only in degree from those of men. We have no time or space to argue this matter here. All occultists know it to be a fact, and others are referred to some of the more recent scientific works for outside corroboration. There are the usual seven sub-divisions to this plane.

 

2. The Plane of Elemental Mind (A) comprises the state or condition, and degree of mental and vital development of a class of entities unknown to the average man, but recognized to occultists. They are invisible to the ordinary senses of man, but, nevertheless, exist and play their part of the Drama of the Universe. Their degree of intelligence is between that of the mineral and chemical entities on the one hand, and of the entities of the plant kingdom on the other. There are seven subdivisions to this plane, also.

 

3. The Plane of Plant Mind, in its seven sub-divisions, comprises the states or conditions of the entities comprising the kingdoms of the Plant World, the vital and mental phenomena of which is fairly well understood by the average intelligent person, many new and interesting scientific works regarding "Mind and Life in Plants" having been published during the last decade. Plants have life, mind and "souls," as well as have the animals, man, and super-man.

 

4. The Plane of Elemental Mind (B), in its seven sub-divisions, comprises the states and conditions of a higher form of "elemental" or unseen entities, playing their part in the general work of the Universe, the mind and life of which form a part of the scale between the Plane of Plant Mind and the Plane of Animal Mind, the entities partaking of the nature of both.

 

5. The Plane of Animal Mind, in its seven sub-divisions, comprises the states and conditions of the entities, beings, or souls, animating the animal forms of life, familiar to us all. It is not necessary to go into details regarding this kingdom or plane of life, for the animal world is as familiar to us as is our own.

 

6. The Plane of Elemental Mind (C), in its seven sub-divisions, comprises those entities or beings, invisible as are all such elemental forms, which partake of the nature of both animal and human life in a degree and in certain combinations. The highest forms are semi-human in intelligence.

 

7. The Plane of Human Mind, in its seven sub-divisions, comprises those manifestations of life and mentality which are common to Man, in his various grades, degrees, and divisions. In this connection, we wish to point out the fact that the average man of today occupies but the fourth sub-division of the Plane of Human Mind, and only the most intelligent have crossed the borders of the Fifth Sub-Division. It has taken the race millions of years to reach this stage, and it will take many more years for the race to move on to the sixth and seventh sub-divisions, and beyond. But, remember, that there have been races before us which have passed through these degrees, and then on to higher planes. Our own race is the fifth (with stragglers from the fourth) which has set foot upon The Path. And, then there are a few advanced souls of our own race who have outstripped the masses, and who have passed on to the sixth and seventh sub-division, and some few being still further on. The man of the Sixth Sub-Division will be "The Super-Man"; he of the Seventh will be "The Over-Man."

 

(Here I perceive that the author of the Kybalion read a bit of theosophy, but he also makes a tremendous mess with the concepts of "rounds" and "root races". And this shows me that he did not study carefully and attentively, and the result is an ill-structured jumble.)

 

In our consideration of the Seven Minor Mental Planes, we have merely referred to the Three Elementary Planes in a general way. We do not wish to go into this subject in detail in this work, for it does not belong to this part of the general philosophy and teachings. But we may say this much, in order to give you a little clearer idea, of the relations of these planes to the more familiar ones—the Elementary Planes bear the same relation to the Planes of Mineral, Plant, Animal and Human Mentality and Life, that the black keys on the piano do to the white keys. The white keys are sufficient to produce music, but there are certain scales, melodies, and harmonies, in which the black keys play their part, and in which their presence is necessary. They are also necessary as "connecting links" of soul-condition; entity states, etc., between the several other planes, certain forms of development being attained therein—this last fact giving to the reader who can "read between the lines" a new light upon the processes of Evolution, and a new key to the secret door of the "leaps of life" between kingdom and kingdom. The great kingdoms of Elementals are fully recognized by all occultists, and the esoteric writings are full of mention of them. The readers of Bulwer's "Zanoni" and similar tales will recognize the entities inhabiting these planes of life.

 

(Here the author of the Kybalion is very wrong because the masters have explained that the elementals are essential for life, to the extent that without them the other kingdoms simply could not exist.

 

And the writer Edward Bulwer Lytton in his work "Zanoni" does not speak of elementals but of the dweller of the threshold, which is a very different entity from what the elementals are.)

 

 

 

 

The Great Spiritual Plane

 

Passing on from the Great Mental Plane to the Great Spiritual Plane, what shall we say? How can we explain these higher states of Being, Life and Mind, to minds as yet unable to grasp and understand the higher subdivisions of the Plane of Human Mind? The task is impossible. We can speak only in the most general terms. How may Light be described to a man born blind—how sugar, to a man who has never tasted anything sweet—how harmony, to one born deaf?

 

All that we can say is that the Seven Minor Planes of the Great Spiritual Plane (each Minor Plane having its seven sub-divisions) comprise Beings possessing Life, Mind and Form as far above that of Man of to-day as the latter is above the earth-worm, mineral or even certain forms of Energy or Matter. The Life of these Beings so far transcends ours, that we cannot even think of the details of the same; their minds so far transcend ours, that to them we scarcely seem to "think," and our mental processes seem almost akin to material processes; the Matter of which their forms are composed is of the highest Planes of Matter, nay, some are even said to be "clothed in Pure Energy." What may be said of such Beings?

 

On the Seven Minor Planes of the Great Spiritual Plane exist Beings of whom we may speak as Angels; Archangels; Demi-Gods. On the lower Minor Planes dwell those great souls whom we call Masters and Adepts. Above them come the Great Hierarchies of the Angelic Hosts, unthinkable to man; and above those come those who may without irreverence be called "The Gods," so high in the scale of Being are they, their being, intelligence and power being akin to those attributed by the races of men to their conceptions of Deity. These Beings are beyond even the highest flights of the human imagination, the word "Divine" being the only one applicable to them. Many of these Beings, as well as the Angelic Host, take the greatest interest in the affairs of the Universe and play an important part in its affairs. These Unseen Divinities and Angelic Helpers extend their influence freely and powerfully, in the process of Evolution, and Cosmic Progress. Their occasional intervention and assistance in human affairs have led to the many legends, beliefs, religions and traditions of the race, past and present. They have superimposed their knowledge and power upon the world, again and again, all under the Law of THE ALL, of course.

 

But, yet, even the highest of these advanced Beings exist merely as creations of, and in, the Mind of THE ALL, and are subject to the Cosmic Processes and Universal Laws. They are still Mortal. We may call them "gods" if we like, but still they are but the Elder Brethren of the Race,—the advanced souls who have outstripped their brethren, and who have foregone the ecstasy of Absorption by THE ALL, in order to help the race on its upward journey along The Path. But, they belong to the Universe, and are subject to its conditions—they are mortal—and their plane is below that of Absolute Spirit.

 

Only the most advanced Hermetists are able to grasp the Inner Teachings regarding the state of existence, and the powers manifested on the Spiritual Planes. The phenomena is so much higher than that of the Mental Planes that a confusion of ideas would surely result from an attempt to describe the same. Only those whose minds have been carefully trained along the lines of the Hermetic Philosophy for years—yes, those who have brought with them from other incarnations the knowledge acquired previously—can comprehend just what is meant by the Teaching regarding these Spiritual Planes. And much of these Inner Teachings is held by the Hermetists as being too sacred, important and even dangerous for general public dissemination. The intelligent student may recognize what we mean by this when we state that the meaning of "Spirit" as used by the Hermetists is akin to "Living Power"; "Animated Force;" "Inner Essence;" "Essence of Life," etc., which meaning must not be confounded with that usually and commonly employed in connection with the term, i.e., "religious; ecclesiastical; spiritual; ethereal; holy," etc., etc. To occultists the word "Spirit" is used in the sense of "The Animating Principle," carrying with it the idea of Power, Living Energy, Mystic Force, etc. And occultists know that that which is known to them as "Spiritual Power" may be employed for evil as well as good ends (in accordance with the Principle of Polarity), a fact which has been recognized by the majority of religions in their conceptions of Satan, Beelzebub, the Devil, Lucifer, Fallen Angels, etc. And so the knowledge regarding these Planes has been kept in the Holy of Holies in all Esoteric Fraternities and Occult Orders,—in the Secret Chamber of the Temple. But this may be said here, that those who have attained high spiritual powers and have misused them, have a terrible fate in store for them, and the swing of the pendulum of Rhythm will inevitably swing them back to the furthest extreme of Material existence, from which point they must retrace their steps Spiritward, along the weary rounds of The Path, but always with the added torture of having always with them a lingering memory of the heights from which they fell owing to their evil actions. The legends of the Fallen Angels have a basis in actual facts, as all advanced occultists know. The striving for selfish power on the Spiritual Planes inevitably results in the selfish soul losing its spiritual balance and falling back as far as it had previously risen. But to even such a soul, the opportunity of a return is given—and such souls make the return journey, paying the terrible penalty according to the invariable Law.

 

 

 

 

In conclusion

 

we would again remind you that according to the Principle of Correspondence, which embodies the truth: "As Above so Below; as Below, so Above," all of the Seven Hermetic Principles are in full operation on all of the many planes, Physical Mental and Spiritual. The Principle of Mental Substance of course applies to all the planes, for all are held in the Mind of THE ALL. The Principle of Correspondence manifests in all, for there is a correspondence, harmony and agreement between the several planes. The Principle of Vibration manifests on all planes, in fact the very differences that go to make the "planes" arise from Vibration, as we have explained. The Principle of Polarity manifests on each plane, the extremes of the Poles being apparently opposite and contradictory. The Principle of Rhythm manifests on each Plane, the movement of the phenomena having its ebb and flow, rise and flow, incoming and outgoing. The Principle of Cause and Effect manifests on each Plane, every Effect having its Cause and every Cause having its effect. The Principle of Gender manifests on each Plane, the Creative Energy being always manifest, and operating along the lines of its Masculine and Feminine Aspects.

 

(This is false since the masters explained that gender does not exist on the subtle planes, because gender is just a form of procreation that takes place on the physical plane.

 

The mind is only a part of THE ALL and therefore does not apply to all planes.

 

Nor does polarity apply to all planes, since the more one ascends, the more unity manifests.

 

The rhythm is not even fully applied on the physical plane, because it is only a repetitive succession of events that sometimes manifests itself and sometimes does not.

 

And these asseverations shows that the author of the Kybalion told many falsehoods in his statements.)

"As Above so Below; as Below, so Above." This centuries old Hermetic axiom embodies one of the great Principles of Universal Phenomena. As we proceed with our consideration of the remaining Principles, we will see even more clearly the truth of the universal nature of this great Principle of Correspondence.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OBSERVATIONS

 

This chapter is a real mess where the author of the Kybalion, instead of explaining in more depth what the correspondence principle is, began to detail the classification that he invented for the different planes of existence, and which is full of of errors and lies as I am going to demonstrate to you below.

 

But first I would like to clarify what the plans are, because the explanation given by the author of the Kybalion is really very confusing, so I want to give you a more explicit explanation.

 

The masters explained that a plane is another world of existence, but they called them planes and not worlds so that we don't confuse them with the current concept of “parallel worlds”.

 

Usually the theories that accept the existence of parallel worlds (as for example the theory of the multiverse) consider that there are other worlds which coexist in a parallel way with ours. But the detail is that the defenders of these theories place those other worlds also in the physical plane, only in other universes.

 

While the masters explained that the planes of existence they speak are not found in other universes, but are part of our own universe, only that these planes are found in other "dimensions."

 

And I put the word dimensions in quotes because I'm not talking about other space-time dimensions, but I'm talking about other dimensions in the sense of other vibratory levels of existence.

 

And so that you understand me better, we are going to make an analogy with real estate.

 

Imagine that our universe is a house. Well, the theory of the multiverse postulates that there would be other houses apart from ours. So imagine a community with many houses.

This would be a representation of multiple universes.

 

 

But instead what the masters explained is that our universe (and probably the other universes if they exist) are more like a building than a house, where each floor is made up of a different plane of existence.

 

 

 

The ground floor is made up of the physical plane, and it is the only plane that we currently know because it is the only one that we can perceive with our senses. But there is another plane of existence on the first floor which is the astral plane, and there is another plane of existence on the second floor which is the energetic plane, and there is another plane of existence on the third floor which is the emotional plane, and there is another plane of existence on the fourth floor which is the mental plane, and so on.

 

And each plane of existence has its beings that inhabit it, and their properties that characterize it. And all these planes are made up of the same energy, nothing more than this energy vibrates on different scales, and it is these differences that give these different characteristics to each plane.

This is only a very brief explanation so that you have a clearer idea of ​​what the planes of existence are, but in the blog I detail much more about it for those who are interested in knowing more about this topic.

 

 

 

 

 

The Great Physical Plane

 

The first thing I notice when reading the descriptions that the author of the Kybalion gave about the planes of existence, is that he based himself on his own lucubrations and on the falsehoods that various charlatans wrote, and I refer to the evidence since:

 

1. The author of the Kybalion said that the plane of matter (A) is composed of matter in its solid, liquid and gaseous forms.

 

But there he forgot to mention the incandescent form, and this indicates to me that he was inspired by the classification invented by a liar named Charles Leadbeater, who in order to incorporate the four different types of ethers that he had supposedly discovered through his clairvoyance, removed the incandescent state.

first ether    second ether    third ether    fourth ether    Gaseous    Liquid    Solid

 

But to do that is a profound absurdity because science and occultism recognize the existence of the incandescent state.

 

 

2. Then the author of the Kybalion said that the plane of matter (B) is composed of the radiant matter in its radio phases, etc. , and that they belong to the lowest subdivision of this minor plane.

 

But while it is true that in 1879 the physicist William Crookes discovered plasma, which is a state of matter superior to incandescent, and which he called " radiant matter ". Here the author of the Kybalion makes the enormous mistake of confusing "a state of matter" with "an element of matter" .

 

Because the radius is not a state of matter that is above the four known states (which, as we have seen, are: solid, liquid, gaseous and incandescent). Rather, radium is a chemical element that is part of the periodic table. And by this I mean that depending on the temperature in which the radium is found, it can be in a solid state, liquid state, etc.

 

Instead, what characterizes radium is that it is extremely radioactive, but radiation is not a state of matter either, rather it is a physical process in which the atoms of a radioactive element are transformed into a more stable element, thereby emanating energy. And by this I mean that radium will continue to emit radiation regardless of whether it is in a solid state, liquid state, etc.

 

So radium and other radioactive elements do not belong to the lowest subdivision of radiant matter, as the author of the Kybalion claims, since radioactive materials are simply other elements of matter, but which have the particularity of emitting radiation.

 

 

3. Then the author of the Kybalion says that the matter plane (C) is made up of a more subtle and tenuous matter, but he did not specify what it is.

 

 

4. Then he asserts that the fourth plane is constituted by the ethereal substance, which science calls "ether" and which serves for the transmission of energy waves such as: light, heat, electricity, etc.

 

And here again the author of the Kybalion makes a huge mistake because although it is true that since the 17th century, scientists had been theorizing about the hypothetical existence of an invisible fluid that they called "ether" and which they considered filled everything space and constituted the means of transmission of all manifestations of energy.

 

The negative result of the Michelson-Morley experiment in 1887 made them consider that the ether did not exist, and the theory of relativity published in 1905 by Albert Einstein ended up convincing the scientific community to completely reject this theory of the ether.

 

And this shows how little the author of the Kybalion was informed because by the time he published his book in 1908, three years had already passed since scientists had rejected the existence of the ether.

 

 

5. Then the author of the Kybalion said that the energy plane (A) is composed of the ordinary forms of energy known to science, and that they are: heat, light, magnetism, electricity and attraction (including gravitation, cohesion, chemical affinity, etc.)

 

And here I suspect that the author of the Kybalion was based on what Rudolf Steiner taught, who was another liar who took up the lie that Leadbeater had invented about the existence of the four different types of ethers, and added even more falsehoods to the matter since he assured that:

 

• The first type of ether is called "life ether" because it is the one that constitutes life and is the most subtle etheric substance.

• The second type of ether is called "chemical ether" because it is the ether that produces the union of atoms and is the one that makes up the second etheric substance.

• The third type of ether is called "luminous ether" because it is the ether that produces light and is the one that composes the third etheric substance.

• And the fourth type of ether is called "hot ether" because it is the heat-carrying ether and is the densest etheric substance.

 

But what Rudolf Steiner affirmed, and that the author of the Kybalion took up in his own way, is false because heat is transmitted through all states of matter (solid, liquid, etc.) only at different intensities.

 

In addition, scientists discovered that light is transmitted by means of elementary particles that they called photons and that they have nothing to do with the ethers that Leadbeater invented.

 

And the scientists also discovered that what holds the atoms together are intermolecular forces, and these also have nothing to do with the ethers invented by Leadbeater.

 

And in the same way the author of the Kybalion was wrong with the other forces and energies that he mentioned.

 

 

6. Then he said that the energy plane (B) is made up of the finer forces of nature and that they are put into operation by certain mental phenomena, but he did not specify more about it.

 

 

7. And finally the author of the Kybalion said that the energy plane (C) is composed of energy so highly organized that it has many of the characteristics of "life."

 

And this accentuates my suspicion that the author of the Kybalion copied Rudolf Steiner (or one of his followers) because if you look above, Steiner stated that "the most subtle ether is what constitutes life."

 

But once again that is false because Theosophy and Eastern teachings explained that the energy that carries life (and which they call "prana") is an energy that belongs to another plane of existence.

All these falsehoods show you that the "great physical plane" taught by the Kybalion is truly a disaster, but to the misfortune of its author it turns out that his "great mental plane" is even worse, as I am going to show you below.

 

 

 

 

 

The Great Mental Plane

 

Because despite all the mistakes that the author of the Kybalion made in the description he made of his "great physical plane", at least there he did capture that it was about increasingly higher vibrational degrees of matter and energy, independently of the beings that used this matter and this energy.

 

But instead to describe his "great mental plane", I don't know what happened to the author of the Kybalion that there completely he changed his perception and this time he established the graduation based on the different kingdoms that exist on the planet, since he described the seven minor planes of the great mental plane as follows:

 

     1. The Plane of Mineral Mind

     2. The Plane of Elemental Mind (A)

     3. The Plane of Plant Mind

     4. The Plane of Elemental Mind (B)

     5. The Plane of Animal Mind

     6. The Plane of Elemental Mind (C)

     7. The Plane of Human Mind

 

 

But doing this is completely aberrational!

 

 

And so that you understand why it is aberrational, divide the great physical plane in the same way, which would give you:

 

     1. The Plane of Mineral matter

     2. The Plane of Elemental matter (A)

     3. The Plane of Plant matter

     4. The Plane of Elemental matter (B)

     5. The Plane of Animal matter

     6. The Plane of Elemental matter (C)

     7. The Plane of Human matter

 

 

Do you see where the inconsistency is?

 

 

It would be as if you were dividing matter according to each kingdom that inhabits the Earth, but that doesn't make any sense because all the kingdoms occupy the same matter and it only changes the way each kingdom uses that matter to build their bodies:

• The minerals are created very basic rocky bodies.
• The plants are created more elaborate vegetable body.
• The animals create even more advanced bestial bodies.
• And people create even more developed human bodies.

 

(Note: Elementals do not create physical bodies for themselves because they have not yet reached this state of evolution.)

 

All beings use the same matter and onlythe ability to build with it varies, so then it does not make any sense to classify matter among each kingdom of life on Earth, instead of classifying matter as was done above among its different states: solid, liquid, gas, etc.

 

And it doesn't make sense because the different kingdoms use the same matter to create their respective physical bodies.

 

In other words, the body of a mineral is made up of the same type of matter that is made up of the body of a vegetable, or the body of an animal, or the body of a human. And only the development of each of these bodies varies, but the matter is completely the same. The matter of a human is the same as the matter of an animal or a vegetable, etc.

 

 

Do you see why it is so absurd to classify physical substance in this way?

 

 

But it turns out that this is exactly what the author of the Kybalion did with the mental substance.

 

In that case the same aberration results because the different kingdoms of life use the same mental substance and only the development they have in the ability to use this substance varies.

 

And that is why I tell you that the description that the author of the Kybalion made of his "great mental plane" is even more disastrous, because there the errors start from the initial structure.

 

 

 

 

 

The Great Spiritual Plane

 

As for the great spiritual plane, I can't tell you much because the masters have practically revealed nothing about it. But what I do realize is that the author of the Kybalion made his description based on his Christian beliefs where:

 

Below on earth are humans, in the middle in heaven is the angelic hierarchy and at the top are the gods, which in Christianity are:

 

God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit

 

 

And the author of the Kybalion speaks of the gods as if they were beings with form, since he says that they are "the Elder Brothers of the human race."

 

But that is a very simplistic vision of Divinity, since the older brothers of the human race are actually the masters, that is, humans who have advanced a lot in them evolution.

 

On the other hand, I would no longer call the celestial beings “older brothers” because for us to reach their level we are talking about billions of years. In other words, although they are indeed our brothers in a very broad sense of the word, the difference in development that exists between them and us is so enormous that it would be the same as calling brothers the minerals .

 

And the gods are at an even higher level, and that is why I prefer to talk about Cosmic Consciousness instead of talking about gods, because the word "gods" is very distorted.

 

So imagine a Cosmic Consciousness that has no form, that is pure essence, but that encompasses an entire solar system with its planets, or an entire galaxy with its billions of stars, or even the entire Universe with its hundreds of thousands. of millions of galaxies.

 

I would not call this Universe Consciousness "Big Brother" because He is already far beyond from our comprehension.

So the distorted and religious vision that the author of the Kybalion has about the divine world, shows me that he was not a true initiate in the occultism (as he pretended to be).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

AND WHERE IS THE CORRESPONDENCE?

 

The author of the Kybalion tried to express this correspondence by pointing out that there is a septenary structure that is repeated in the different planes of existence, but he did it in a very crude way since he often forgot.

 

For example, it begins by saying that the Universe can be divided into three great planes (the physical, the mental and the spiritual), and there one wonders: if the structure is septenary, why is the Universe divided only into three and not in seven great planes?

 

And the answer is because the author of the Kybalion was wrong, since in reality the Universe is divided into seven great planes.

 

A second example is when he says that "the matter plane (A) comprises matter in its solid, liquid, and gaseous forms, as generally recognized in physics textbooks."

 

And once again one wonders: if the structure is septenary, why is the plane of matter (A) divided into only three states and not seven?

 

And the answer is because once again the author of the Kybalion was wrong, since matter is in reality divided into seven states.

 

And a third example is when he says that "the plane of energy (A) is subdivided into seven sub-planes which are: heat, light, magnetism, electricity and attraction (including gravitation, cohesion, chemical affinity, etc.) and various other forms of energy indicated by scientific experiments, but not yet named or classified."

 

But there the author of the Kybalion is giving more than seven divisions because ask any physicist and he will tell you that the gravitational force that attracts celestial bodies is not the same as the cohesive force that keeps atoms together, and also the author of the Kybalion makes a tremendous jumble between forces, energies and waves.

 

 

In other words, the author of the Kybalion explanation is really very bad.

 

 

 

So that you have a better understanding of how the correspondence principle works, I am going to give you a short summary explanation using the Theosophical teaching, since this topic is much better clarified there.

 

Theosophical instructors explained that the physical plane is divided into seven main states of matter, which are:

But it turns out that the physical plane is only the densest plane of the seven planes of existence that make up the planet.

 

 

 

And these seven planes are only the densest plane of the seven enormous planes of existence that make up the solar system.

 

 

 

And these seven enormous planes of the solar system in turn are only the densest plane of the seven mega-immense planes of existence that constitute the Universe.

 

 

 

And as you can see for yourselves, the septenary structure is repeated on the different scales of the Universe, but it is not only manifested in the microcosm and the macrocosm, but this septenary structure is also manifested in all aspects of Creation.

 

 

For example in the hidden constitution of humans

 

 

 

 

And also in the cosmic evolution that humans carry out through the seven rounds, since in each of these rounds one of its seven principles is perfected.

 

 

 

 

And also in the evolution that humans carry out within each of these rounds through the seven root races.

 

 

 

 

And this septenary structure is also found in:

 

-      the rays of creation,

-      the sacred planets,

-      the chakras,

-      the colors,

-      the musical notes,

-      the hidden structure of the different kingdoms of nature (the mineral kingdom, the vegetable kingdom, the animal kingdom), etc.

 

 

THIS SEPTENARY STRUCTURE IS FOUND EVERYWHERE!

 

And that is why there is a correspondence with everything that exists, because everything that exists in the Universe is elaborated based on the same septenary structure. And that is why the principle of correspondence in its broader definition says:

 

« As above, so below; as it is in the big, it is in the small; as it is in the internal, it is in the external. »

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

CONCLUSION

 

The author of the Kybalion had the merit of wanting to explain the principle of correspondence, but the large number of errors and lies that he wrote show that this individual was very confused and lost in this and other esoteric issues.
